Philip Evergood was an American artist who created works of art throughout the early twentieth century. With formal training in art, he painted average people and used his work to make social and political statements. He is well known for his murals, painted in public buildings and commissioned by the government during the Great Depression. Living during a time of great turmoil with social changes in the air, Philip Evergood was able to use his talents to create images for people to thoughtfully reflect upon for the rest of time.
